FAQS
I am interested in a photo session, where do I begin? Please send an email to Olga at chasingmoments@gmail.com with information about the type of session you are interested in, your time frame, preferred location and/or other relevant information as well as any questions you may have. Your photographer will communicate with you via email/phone as often as necessary to address all your questions and to understand your needs. Once you are ready to schedule your session, your photographer will set up a phone consultation or an in-person consultation to get to understand your style, preferences and priorities so she can best prepare for the session. After the session, your proofs will be ready within 10-14 business days, after which you will meet with your photographer for an in-person viewing/ordering session.
I am not sure about whether I'll be good at posing. What is your take on this? I will help you with poses as much or as little as you would like me to. I can provide very detailed posing instruction, setting up every detail of every shot or I can shoot in a photo journalistic style. In many cases, I end up using general suggestions that help improve overall look of final images without "micromanaging" every single shot.
I am not sure about the retouching needs. Would I need to tell you what type of retouching I want? You do not need to know anything about retouching or photoshop. Retouching decisions are made by the photographer based on her expertise and artistic vision. Please inform the photographer of any special retouching requests.
Can I get my images in black and white? Some images look good both in color and black and white, some look good only in color and some look good only in black and white. Therefore, depending on the photographer's artistic vision, some shots may be made with the view of a final black and white image. Your gallery of proofs will include both color and black and white images, as appropriate.
How long will it take before I see proofs? Your photographer will take 10-14 business days to prepare the proofs for viewing. Once the proofs are ready, the client will have 2 weeks to meet with the photographer for viewing and ordering (please inform your photographer of any special circumstances to extend this time frame). Prints and products must be ordered during the proof viewing session. A password protected online gallery of proofs can be made available free of charge for 2 weeks to allow friends and family to place their orders.
What if I need to reschedule the session? Your photographer will reschedule as many times as necessary for weather-related or for urgent medical reasons. Your photographer will reschedule up to 2 times for other personal reasons. All weather- and medical-related changes must take place at least 3 hours prior to the beginning of the photo session. All other scheduling changes must occur at least 48 hours prior to the session.
How long will you keep my files for, in case I decide to order additional prints or products? Your photographer will keep all proofs for ordering for 2 months after the viewing/ordering session. Your photographer will keep back ups of your proofs for another 10 months for a small one time fee.
What kind of model release would I be required to sign for the shoot? ALL private, paid clients booking an on-location or a studio session are required to sign a release allowing the photographer to photograph them and to use images for personal portfolio promotion (for example, online to showcase her work). This release is standard in the industry and will be signed in the beginning of your session. This release does not allow the photographer to use images for any commercial purposes (resale, stock, etc).
Do you work TFCD (time for CD)? Yes, I do. My time is very limited, however. I shoot TFCD selectively with experienced/exceptional models with interesting/unique ideas and kids/children/young families and couples with commercial looks. All TFCD sessions are free and include a selection of high resolution digital files for your use. All TFCD models are required to sign a commercial model release allowing me to use images from the session for sale through stock agencies. These images can then be used by clients for use in print or on the web; please click here for examples of how some of my images have been used in the past please. Send me an email if interested.
